INGID was invited to participate in the 2025 ASID/ASOK conference in Nairobi, Kenya. The Nursing Education Day on June 26th brought together nurses, physicians and educators for a dynamic and collaborative learning experience.

The morning sessions opened with a basic immunology review led by Prof. Kirtika Patel. This was followed by Dr. Joe Mbuthia, who provided an overview of Inborn Errors of Immunodeficiencies. Mary Louise Daly and Dr. Julia Hews-Girard led interactive sessions on PID warning signs and HAE (Hereditary Angioedema), while Lisa Smith presented an education regarding the basics of Allergy and Allergy-related conditions.

After lunch, a panel discussion explored the journey to diagnosis and follow-up care. The conversation highlighted the caregiver perspective and the nurse’s role in awareness and support, and concluded with an engaging Q&A. We are grateful to Babirye L. for sharing her experiences with us.  The final session allowed participants to rotate through three, interactive sessions: 1) IVIG/C1-esterase administration and troubleshooting, led by Edith Mugane; 2) data collection strategies; and 3) Educational resources and strategies, including materials from the Jeffrey Model Foundation and INGID.
