Tips for stressful times in the workplace

Supporting each other

It is important to treat ourselves and others with compassion, as each of us will feel different levels of concern at different times.

Look: Take time to check in with yourselves and your colleagues. Look for visible cues on each other’s energy levels.

Listen: Practice active listening. Give each other time to be open and honest in how you are feeling, mentally and physically.

Acknowledge: Take the time to acknowledge and validate how we are feeling. This supports our connection with others and promotes kindness.

Respond: In times of high stress, it’s easy to let frustrations get in the way of good communication. Pause and give yourself space to respond in a kind and considerate way.
